simplify, Simplify, SIMPLIFY ..1 ..2 ..3

Trevor writes:

From this post - MAD 7. It Only Takes 'HALF-A-DOZEN' Things! (extract below) - I am reminded that it is all to easy to fall into the trap of adding unnecessary complexity to ideas, projects, strategies, et al, that should be as simple as ...1 ..2 ..3

Too many people look to make the simple things in life too complex to understand.

Yes, most often it takes only a few things... 1, 2, or 3 things... just a 'half-a-dozen' things to ensure success in most projects.

I am resolving to simplify every idea, project, strategy I have into a 'simple as ..1 ..2 ..3' graphic presentation.

USE It or Lose It

Writes Trevor:

Caught the first episode of CBS News/TIME's new series - A Users Guide To The Brain.

The program discussed a University of Illinois study which showed that '..walking will increase the volume of the brain, increase the efficiency of the brain and increase improvements in the number of cognitive functions such as memory and attention,' according to Professor Arthur Kramer.

Get this... just by adding regular WALKING to their schedules participants in the study showed up to a 50 percent improvement in memory and attention in just six months.

There's a business in there somewhere. Found this site which promotes the concept of Brain Fitness. A neat idea for direct promotion in South Africa..? Seems to me that the idea has legs.

The BRAIN In Business

Writes Trevor:

I'm clearly hooked on developing business... so my interest will be on what the brain can do to improve our chances of doing MORE business (i.e. to GROW our business interests).

Dr. Ellen Weber has an interesting site - BrainBasedBusiness - referencing the brain's affect in and on business.

One thing I do know in business is that you get what you expect.

BRAIN Matters

Elaine writes:

Do you know how your brain works?

Do you know how your thoughts affect your outcome?

Are you the master of your brain or does your brain dictate to you?

What have you been focusing on lately? On how well life is going for you?

Or on how much business you've been doing compared to last year, or how well your superiors have been rating you?

Or on how much your partner loves you and how much you revel in the relationship you're having? Or on the excellent state of your bank account?

On your ever-present good health and slim and trim physique?

Or on the joy you experience each time you sit down to dinner with your teenage children or the wonderful vacation you came back from recently and the even more exciting one you are planning for the near future?

Or on the good way you feel about yourself and all the things you are creating and doing with your life?

Or is your mind full of the worries of the job, family, security and mainly money?

Most people concentrate on what could go wrong in any circumstance and, believe me, the brain says I hear the command and that’s exactly what you get!

The fact is that most people focus so much on what they are afraid of, or what bothers them, or what stresses them, or what they don't know how to solve, that they are giving all or most of their conscious and subconscious energy to a negative outcome - the problem.

Obviously you are not only undermining yourself and sabotaging your desired outcomes, but you may also be creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

You may have developed the most wonderful goals but if you do not imagine yourself achieving them you might as well not have wasted the ink and time writing them.

Therefore, whenever your thoughts stray from the goal into negative territory, you need to pull them back into the arena of positive results.

Do you need help setting your goals? Do you need help planning for their success?

I can help you move towards greater personal and relationship success.

I suggest you read ‘As A Man thinketh’ by James Allen then contact me for a complimentary session either in person or by phone.
